On this shore excursion we will pick you up outside the Port of Palma de Mallorca cruise area by coach or mini bus and take you away from the hustle and bustle of the city and up into the mountain villages of Valldemossa and Soller. During the journey you will have gorgeous views of the Mediterranean countryside and the picturesque villages.
Our first stop will be in Valldemossa, one of Mallorca’s most historical villages, boasting the Carthusian Monastery, retreat of Chopin, and the only village in Mallorca to be the birthplace of a saint. In Valldemossa you will have free time for approximately one and a half hours, and you can choose to either spend that with our guide, who will take you on a guided walk through the winding streets and lanes and give you plenty of information about the village’s fascinating history, or you can go off yourself for a relaxing brunch at one of the local cafes in the main square.
We will then take you for a drive over the mountains from where you will have stunning views of the dramatic west coast cliffs and we will head down to the splendid Soller Valley.
You will have free time in Soller, one of the most architecturally delightful villages of Mallorca, where you can enjoy beautiful modernist buildings, such as Soller’s famous church, and where you can soak up the atmosphere of the typical Mallorcan life. Accompany our guide for a tour of Soller, or explore on your own, again, the choice is yours.
This shore excursion from the Port of Palma de Mallorca lasts five and a half hours and sometimes there is time to visit Palma city and cathedral before return to the port.
Customer reviews for Mallorca Shore Excursion Soller and Valldemosa
The tour was very good. We especially liked Valldemossa. Camy is a great guide and was very informative and offered suggestions on where to eat/drink or what to do with our free time in each place The only negative point is the instructions for the meeting point are very unclear if you are joining the tour from the cruise port in Mallorca. Clearer instructions should be given as all the participants on our tour were unsure and were directed outside by port and cruise staff but the bus was waiting inside the port for us.
We are docking in Palma with Wonders of the sea.Is it possible to buy tickets on the morning when ship docks…we worried that the ship’s time of docking and your bus time are not the same.
Enjoyed the breathtaking scenery and the guide's commentary. Both Valldemossa and Soller were stunning. The bits in between were too. Well worth spending the day docked at Palma doing this tour.
We would highly recommend getting a guide(driver) for this tour. The road and views were much more enjoyable with someone who was familiar with road. Everything they recommend to bring.... bring:)
One of the best tours we made during our cruise. Mallorca Shore Excursion to Soller and Valldemosa was simply beautiful. Tramuntana Mountains are a must to visit if you are stopping in Palma de Mallorca. Pick up was on time and we had a lovely time with our guide. Vallemossa is one of the most charming places we have seen on our route. We loved it! We would recommend this visit for everyone on cruises.
TOURING STRATEGY: The ship was in port from 9 am – 7 pm. A small group tour with click-mallorca.com was selected. The tour took the small group to 2 villages in reasonably close proximity to Palma- Valldemosa and Sollar. The tour offered drop off in Palma for independent self guided walking in the Old Town after the small group tour. NOTE: The Cathedral in Old Town is imposing and worth a look. Overall Impression: 4 ½ STARS VALLDEMOSA: This was an amazing and surprisingly delightful village to visit. Awesome architecture and charming, narrow cobblestone streets. The entrances to the houses are surrounded by flowering plants. Each house seems to have a hand painted tile of the patron saint to protect the inhabitants, and all of the tiles are different (different saints as well). This village just makes you feel comfortable and relaxed. Very low key. Definitely a place we would like to come back to and spend days in. 5 STARS SOLLAR: If we had gone to Sollar 1st, we would have been wowed by it and then the visit to Valldemosa would have taken us to a higher level of WOW. But seeing Valldemose 1st spoiled us. Sollar is also quaint but it has some asphalt streets and largely lacks the plants around the entrances. Sollar is a pleasant place to wander around and you get a good feeling there, but Valldemosa was better. Valldemosa is like a well worn leather chair. It just feels right when you sit in it. 4 STARS PALMA: Self guided walking tours of the Old Town are enjoyable. The Cathedral dominates the area. A good place to walk and get lost in.
Would highly recommend this excursion to Soller and Valldemosa in Mallorca. I saw lots of great landscape and felt that I had used my one day in Mallorca wisely. For the length and completeness of the excursion I felt it was excellent value for money.
Everything was perfect from the moment we got our booking confirmation to the moment we were dropped back off at the cruise ship. Valdemossa was the most picturesque village we visited in Europe and we loved the valley of Soller too. We had plenty of time for lunch and for strolling around getting lost in the old streets and we came away with a collection of amazing photos.
