On this Mallorca Island Tour from Palma, you will experience the island’s most spectacular landscapes by travelling through the Serra de Tramuntana, a UNESCO World Heritage Site renowned for its dramatic mountains, deep gorges and coastal scenery. This is a round-trip excursion, carefully organised to combine coach, boat, tram and vintage train travel in one seamless day. Depending on transport schedules, the order of the route may vary, but all key highlights are always included.
The tour normally begins with a coach journey into the heart of the mountains to Lluc Monastery, the spiritual centre of Mallorca. Here you will have free time to explore the monastery and its surroundings while your expert guide explains the cultural, historical and natural importance of the area, including the local flora and fauna.
From Lluc, the journey continues by coach through the Tramuntana Mountains, passing iconic landmarks such as Puig Major and the dramatic Torrent de Pareis. One of the highlights of this section is driving along the famous road to Sa Calobra, often called the “snake road”, considered one of the most impressive mountain roads in Europe.
You will then arrive at Sa Calobra, one of Mallorca’s most breathtaking natural locations. Here you will enjoy free time to swim at the beach, walk to the mouth of the Torrent de Pareis gorge or have lunch at one of the local restaurants, surrounded by spectacular scenery.
Next, you will board a boat for a scenic coastal cruise to Port de Sóller. This approximately 40-minute boat trip offers unforgettable views of cliffs, sea caves, coves, ancient watchtowers and small islands along Mallorca’s west coast — a perspective of the island that can only be appreciated from the sea.
On arrival at Port de Sóller, you will have time to enjoy the harbour before boarding the historic wooden tram. The Sóller Tram takes you from the seafront through orange and lemon groves and straight into the heart of Sóller Old Town, offering a charming and authentic glimpse of local life.
The final highlight of the day is the famous Sóller Train, built in 1912. This vintage wooden train crosses the Sóller Valley and passes through tunnels carved into the mountains, providing privileged panoramic views as it travels back to Palma. For many visitors, this nostalgic train journey is the most memorable part of the Mallorca Island Tour and a perfect way to end an unforgettable day exploring the island.
Customer Reviews – Mallorca Island Tour from Palma
Best excursion in Mallorca. Amazing views, unique transport and very well organised.
Fantastic day out with NoFrills Excursions. The Island Tour is the best way to see Mallorca in one day. The vintage train and the boat ride were highlights and everything ran smoothly from start to finish.
We booked the Mallorca Island Tour from Palma and it exceeded every expectation. The combination of the Sóller train, the tram, the boat ride and Sa Calobra made it feel like several excursions in one day. Everything was perfectly organised, no rushing and no commercial stops, just stunning scenery and great explanations from the guide.
From start to finish the Island Tour was fantastic. It is a full day excursion and you get to see different aspects of the island using a variety of transport : coach, boat, tram and train. Our guide Antonia was very knowledgeable and made the trip so interesting. Together with Rafa our coach driver they were a brilliant team. It was a packed day full of sightseeing but very manageable. And .... most importantly we saw parts of Mallorca we've not seen before. The different types of transport was also a new experience for us. Good value for money, well run . Definitely recommended.
Great day out Magda our guide was amazing and the driver too getting round all thise bends needs an award Magda kept us uo to date on everything all day. Could have done with more time Port Soller as time you have lunch not much time to explore and more time in Soller but overall was a fantastic day highly recommend great way to see the best of the island
We had a great time with a great driver and host . Thank you
Excellent organisation, guide Joe and coach driver Jack were superb. The driving skills necessary were next level
The Calobra torrent was nice. The tramway and train from Soller as well. However nothing interesting in the port of Soller. And not enough time to enjoy the beach in la Calobra. Only enough time to eat and walk to the beach.
Had a great day exploring parts of Mallorca with Antonia, who was very knowledgeable. I was impressed with her ability to speak and switch between multiple languages to explain what we were seeing. I would have loved a more guided tour of the areas we were in instead of just letting us roam free and exploring, but I had fun that way anyway. The different ways to get around the island was pretty fun. I loved the boat ride and taking the wooden train/tram was quite an experience. Thank you again to Antonia and a shoutout to Juan for being the best bus driver in the windy road between the Lluc and Calabria.
Overall fantastic Too long at Monastery Unfortunately no stops for photos on bus And though guide spoke English descriptions were in too many languages- difficult to hear on bus and no when we was changing languages
We want to know what you think
