On this 3.5-hour bike tour of Alcudia, your enthusiastic, English-speaking tour guide will take you to discover a totally different Alcudia, compared with the tourist resort. Many people don't realise what a pleasure it is to cycle along rustic, country lanes in the sunshine. Our route will follow the backroads, away from heavy traffic for your safety and enjoyment.
We will cycle from our meeting point in the Port of Alcudia to the Old Town, which is less than 15 minutes away. Your guide will make stops around town to explain different points of interest. Once back on the bike, we will pedal out of town and join the coast to cross onto the Bay of Pollensa. There is a pretty stretch of coastline that we will cycle along and your guide will explain about local nature and the uniqueness of this beach and its poseidon.
We will immediate leave the main road and enter the wetland of the Albufereta, just at the entrance to the Bay of Pollensa. The Albufereta is a natural protected area and is a haven for birds and wildlife. You will marvel at the peace and quiet here and you'll be able to climb up on the viewing platforms where you'll see the whole area of marshes and a gorgeous view of Pollensa Bay.
Then we'll meander along the country lanes, enjoying the views of the countryside and the seaside. We will make a stop at a rustic farmhouse dedicated to local agriculture. You will be served a refreshing glass of fresh juice and your guide will explain to you the work they do at this rustic estate that feels a million miles away from the bustling tourist centre you've just left. Here you will taste a local salad with onion, tomato, green pepper and chickpeas (garbanzo beans) cultivated on this very property.
From here we will make our way back to our starting point, at a comfortable pace, without rushing.
