One of the best ways to learn about the history and culture of a place is through its gastronomy. Nowadays food and culture go hand in hand more than ever before and that's why we have designed this food-focused walking tour around the city of Palma, which combines culture and history.
During the itinerary we will visit some of the most interesting spots of Palma, where we will make different stops. We will also visit some of the little-known places related to gastronomy in Palma:
- Taste some of the most popular liqueurs of the island.
- Experience baked treats from a working convent and learn how the local people buy the products from the nuns.
- Visit a bakery where they make "gastronomic archeology".
And of course on our guided walk, we can't miss out a stop at one of the city's great markets, where we will discover different products from the island and will pause to try a tapa and a glass of wine.
Food Tour Palma Reviews
Really enjoyed the tour with Joan - great mix of history and local knowledge with tasting Mallorcan food specialities. All done with great humour and enthusiasm. Great get your bearings of old Palma.
It is must do do this great Palma de Mallorca food tour, Joao is an enthusiastic tour guide. He showed us places a normal tourist would not find or try. And beside the historic buildings he showed us the food and the wine was fantastic. And Joao switched between the languages which is impressive. We would do it a second time! Thanks to Joao!
Fantastic tour and they catered well for my nut allergy and my daughter being a veggie :)
Jeanine was fabulous on our private tour. She made an extra effort for the vegetarian members in the group. Very knowledgeable and friendly!
Very well organised tour with friendly knowledgeable guides. The food was excellent and so was the vino. We thought we knew Palma de Mallorca well but we have been taken to places we'd never been before. We love this city!
Excellent tour. Good mix of culture and food, guide very knowledgeable. Stops at nunnery for cookies, delicatessen for empanadas amd sobrasada. Then the food market for a bowl of tapas a glass of wine and some iberico ham (40mins free time here to wander round or buy yourself another glass of wine). Then another stop for famous mallorcan bread and almond ice cream. Very generous, 3 hours well spent learning about Mallorcan food.
I simply loved the 3 hours tour - tasted some incredible local food, wine and the Majorcan Herbes. I was a bit late to reach the pick up point and Melanie, our tour guide, was so kind and gentle to welcome me with a huge smile. She was very friendly, knowledgeable and of course funny. Very well explained various details of how the food originated etc. Highly recommended..! :)
Jeanine was our guide and she was great. Interesting history and good locations to stop in the shade. It was very hot. Great stops for foodie tastes which all ran to time. Enjoyed hearing about how the city worked prior to the influx of tourists in the 60s. The market is very good, made me want to shop and then go home and cook. Palma was very crowded probably due to the three huge cruise boats in the harbour. Would recommend the tour. Hope to use no frills excursions again.
Amazing experience This food tour was very nice way to get together with other people in a small group. Spots of this walking tour to taste some nice local drink and food were very enjoyable. The local guide was knowleadgeable and very friendly.
We had a most enjoyable food tour with Jeannine. She was a perfect host and we enjoyed very much the food especially the tapa, the wine, the almond icecream and the ensaimada. We will highly recommend this tour to all our family and friends.
