The visit inside the Caves of Drach lasts just over an hour and it includes a memorable classical music concert on Lake Martel, considered to be one of the biggest and most spectacular underground lakes in the world. After the concert you have the possibility (included in the price) of taking a short boat ride across the lake, making this a very unique experience.
The Caves of Drach is one of the most popular attractions in Mallorca and for good reason. The first part of the visit is on foot, as you walk through the different chambers, discovering a different world. The stalactites and stalagmites are enhanced in a sublime way by the magical lighting planned and set in place by the engineer Carlos Buigas, giving an eerie and mysterious air to the caves. There is a guide inside the caves who will point out the different rock formations, formed over centuries of seeping water erosion, so it's time to use your imagination and see if you can see the witch, the flag or the Lake Diana.
Once you reach the famous Lake Martel, you will take a seat in the natural underground amphitheatre, where you will hear classical music played by musicians on boats gently gliding on the lake in a dramatic show of light and music. This area has been turned into a theatre thanks to the quality of its natural accoustics.
When the show is over, you will have the opportunity to cross the lake on one of the boats. Or you can choose to walk around the edge of the lake to take photos if you prefer. The boat ride is included in the price and you will have enough time to participate, even if there is a queue. You will also have time once you leave the caves to have a coffee or beer at the cafe by the caves or to take a stroll through the grounds and use the restrooms and check out the souvenir shop.
Caves Drach and Sineu Market. Reviews
Very well planned and coordinated. Very professional and punctual tour. The experience was very comfortable
Received refund today. Thank you so much for refunding so fast. We have been on Nofrills Excursions in the past and can honestly say you are a fantastic company. Was really happy to be coming on more and now so sad that we can not this year. But will rebook our holiday as soon as we are allowed and will denifinitely book the excursions again with you.
Thanks so much for the refund I’m sure it can’t be easy for you at the moment but be assured we are regular visitors and shall be rebooking as soon as we possibly can. We wish you all the best and safety and good health.
We had an amazing time and were well looked after by Catalina and our driver Miguel. We had a few stops on the way there and the way back, a pearl factory, a liqueur tasting and lunch in Porto Cristo. The caves are truly amazing, you are not allowed to take photos using a flash but there are always some people that think the rules don't apply to them. When you get to the big lake at the end there is an amazing classical 'concert'. The experience is unbelievable and only slightly marred again by those who wanted to get their mobiles out. There is a chance to go on the boat, only for a short distance, but it is well worth the wait in the queue. I don't think any review could do this trip justice, but I would definately recommend using No Frills.
We visited Caves of Drach which was amazing , a journey under the earth to be serenaded by classical music at the bottom. Wonderful! Then on tomPorto Cristo for lunch. Beautiful place and well worth a visit. We then visited the mallorcan pearlmfactorybwhich was lovely could have spent a small fortune! Last we visited a local pottery and liqueur factory. Tasted 20 liqueurs in 30 mins. Wow they were strong! All in all a fantastic day out that only cost €35 and was well worth it.
We went as a family of four with two children aged 4 and 1. The timings of the day were perfect to see the caves and the extra activities such as the pearl factory shop, Porto Cristo, souvenir shop with free liquor tasting and watch tower were all great! Highlight is the underground lake and boat ride. The trip was made extra special by our fantastic guide Albert. His local knowledge, humour and professionalism went above and beyond our expectations. He also went the extra mile to endure we were reunited with our buggy which we had to leave at the entrance to the cave. He made the trip very relaxed and entertaining which can be hard with two little ones. Thank you very much!
My partner and I had a fantastic visit to the caves of drach! The caves themselves were beautiful and the highlight of the tour was watching a musical performance in one of the biggest caves. To end the visit we got a short boat across a river in the cave. Yes, the queues were big but if you are chilled out and prepared to wait a little this isn't an issue. If not you can just walk across a path next to the river. The bus gave you plenty of time in the caves so we were able to queue for the boat ride without too much of a time pressure. The tour guides Juan and Francisco were superb. Juan made what could have felt like a long journey really enjoyable with funny commentary and lots of interesting facts. There were also some other stops to the day, which were excellent. A pearl factory, although I wasn't interested in buying pearls there was a lovely terrace and cafe with beautiful views that we enjoyed. The alcohol tasting was excellent, giving you the chance to sample a really wide range of liquors with no limit- you could have got quite drunk if you'd tried!
The bus was clean, modern and well driven while Albert took us through 5000 years of local history from the Romans to the Spanish civil war without so much as taking a breath! There were plenty of stops at some of the local tourist haunts with the pearl factory and sites of Porto Christo and of course the caves which really are as magnificent as they look in the postcards and brochures! Then onto a hidden tourist gem on the way back to our hotel. The trips about 6-7 hours in length but worth the investment in time and money. These guys really look after you, are passionate about their customers and represent their country with pride. I would use them again in a heartbeat!
Juan our tour guide and Fernando the driver were excellent. Juan's commentary on the bus was knowledgeable and fun. Caves of Drach are extrodinary and well worth a visit. Enjoyed the whole day which was broken up with stops at places of interest
A wonderful day out! The guide was very friendly and knowledgeable and the driver extremely competent and safe. The day was very well structured with the right amount of time at each stop. The market at Sineu was very interesting and the Church at the top of the hill was an unexpected bonus, really beautiful and well worth the 1 Euro entry. The Caves were definitely the highlight of the tour, especially the concert. Would highly recommend this excursion and would have no hesitation in using Nofrills-excursions again in the future.
