While on holiday you should never have to compromise, that's why we have added this outing to our selection of excursions. This half day excursion to the Caves of Drach has been especially thought out for those who simply don’t want to miss out on the opportunity of visiting the spectacular Porto Cristo Caves of Drach but have limited time on the island or would just rather spend the afternoon relaxing at the pool soaking up the sun.
Once we have everybody on board our air conditioned coach, we will make our way inland and drive through the beautiful countryside towards the East Coast, where the Caves of Drach are located and where you will live an experience to cherish.
The visit inside the Caves of Drach has a duration of approximately 80 minutes. You will follow the route through the caves, marvelling as each cavern is bigger than the last and more impressive as you progress. The highlight of your visit will be the classical music concert inside the Caves of Drach and crossing Lake Martel's spectacular waters in a small wooden boat (optional). This boat ride is a unique once in a lifetime experience and is included in the price. Lake Martel is one of the largest subterranean lakes that exist. During the visit you will also witness a magical light show that recreates the sunrise.
On this half day excursion you will also have the opportunity to visit the world famous Majorica Pearls and purchase gifts or simply treat yourself at special prices, as there is a shop from this iconic Mallorcan establishment right by the Caves of Drach. The visit to Majorica Pearls is completely optional. Then it will be time to get back on the coach to return to resort, giving you plenty of time to relax by the swimming pool or head to the beach to enjoy the rest of the day's sun rays.
Customer Reviews for the Caves of Drach Half-Day Tour
Well organised. Good experience Recommend.
The caves are an impressive sight. The final part of the lake concert is quite something. However there are quite a lot of people admitted for each session and it can feel somewhat rushed. Also there is no guide once you enter the cave (beyond a leaflet you are provided with). I found this quite a contrast to a cave experience I had at home in Northern Ireland recently. You were brought down in a small group, accompanied by a guide. This felt much more personal and informative than the experience here. Also anyone travelling from Puerto Pollenca area should note that you are first picked up and last dropped off. As a consequence we found ourselves spending nearly 2 hours of our day on the coach doing just this. Whereas those from Can Picafort spent practically no time at all. Something to consider.
Memorable.
I really like Nofrills excursions! This time we went to the caves which i can recommend anyone to do. There was a problem with roadwork at pickup point but Nofrills solved it very good.
What a fantastic excursion it was. The pickup point was about 5 minutes walk from our hotel with a Google maps link showing us exactly where, very easy to find. Our guide was incredibly knowledgeable and told us fun things about Mallorca and the local area as we drive through the countryside. The information about the caves was fascinating, and the instructions on where to meet after the excursion was clear. The caves themselves were fantastic. It was incredible to see such amazing rock formations up close and it never felt claustrophobic. The highlight of the visit was the classical music concert. I'm a bit sappy and was incredibly moved by the music. How the acoustics changed as the band moved through the caves was incredible. Thankfully photographs and filming wasn't allowed during the concert which made it even more magical. My one thing to mention is that if you want to take the boat ride, be prepared to queue for quite a while. We decided to not do it ourselves. We booked the excursion the day before, late in the evening and I wrote them on WhatsApp just to be sure it wasnt too late and they answered in minutes. When I wanted to add my nephew (who after we booked wanted to join too) it was just as easy. I can not recommend nofrills-excursions and the caves of drach more. For me it's a must see, and nofrills made it easier than I thought possible. 10/10 on the caves 10/10 on nofrills
Great experience! Loved the caves and the no frills staff were amazing!
The tours was really good. Our guide Katharina was very knowledgeable. Made the journey great. Had lots of fun. Didn't end up doing the boat trip in caves though as the queue was very big
We really enjoyed the trip. The bus was modern and well equipped and Ester was a fantastic host, combining information, advice and humour in equal measure!
Pick up time was 9:30. I was at the meet up point at 9:27. I waited 15 min, till i texted them where the bus is. They told me they left before and that i have to book it again. I couldn't because od my flight and i got a full refund within a few hours. Communication was great, but it was baf, that they left before me.
This was a brilliant excursion - the caves are amazing, and definitely recommend a visit! The guide, Ester, was also brilliant, so enthusiastic and friendly, she was concerned that her English was not good, but she spoke very well and perfectly clearly.
