Join us for a fun morning cycling and hiking to the azure waters and glorious beach of Es Coll Baix, which is listed as one of the top 10 beaches in Europe by Lonely Planet.
Our bike tour begins with a gentle cycle around the coastline towards Cap Pinar. We will see beautiful views and will be able to stop for photos. As we leave the resort and the town behind us and head into the woodland area, we will feel the shade of the pine trees and may be able to spot wild goats in the hills. The country track down through the woods is quiet, with few cars. We will be able to relax and enjoy the ride and nature. We will lock our bikes by the picnic area, above the beach, which is as far as we can go cycling. From here we will hike down the rocky cliffside to the beach, arriving at midday.
We will spend approximately one hour at Es Coll Baix Beach, where you can relax in this little-visited cove, swimming in the bluest waters the Mediterranean offers and enjoying the spectacular cliffs surrounding the cove. As this beach is complicated to reach, we expect to find few other people there and may see boats sailing into the cove to enjoy the clear blue sea.
What Lonely Planet say about Es Coll Baix Beach:
“Half the fun is managing to find this remote, thrillingly wild beauty of a beach on Mallorca’s off-the-beaten-track Cap des Pinar peninsula. A walking trail descends through pines and scrambles down the coast to Platja de Coll Baix. A lovely scoop of pale pebbles and crystal-clear sea, rimmed by crumbling cliffs, the bay is at its peaceful best early or late in the day.”
