Our excursion begins at the riding stables in Can Picafort, and we will start with a short introduction to horse riding. The horses are used to taking riders with them even without riding experience, but for this tour it would be better if you had some experience, as the ride lasts 3 hours.
First we will ride from Can Picafort to the beach at Son Baulo, and there we will join the beach. We will ride through some dunes and along the beach to the pretty area of Son Real, a prehistoric settlement and historical observation towers, while we also enjoy beautiful views of Alcudia Bay along the way. When we reach Son Serra de Marina we will make a brief stop.
On the way back to Can Picafort we will take a different route through a pine forest, so you have the experience of riding through different landscapes during the horse riding excursion, this being one of the most complete horse riding experiences in Mallorca.
Beach Horse Riding Reviews
It was a great trip but super warm. It was my second time on a horse and a bit scary to go faster with them but it worked out. However we didn’t go into the sea during the 3hour ride. All in all a great experience.
Booked the 3 hour experience for my 13 year old daughter. She is a confident rider who can trot and canter. She found the experience really enjoyable, and something she would do again.
We loved our 3 h ride. But as experienced riders it would have been nice to devide the group from the beginning so we could ride our own tour. But we were riding in front with the owners daugther and she was lovely.
De ontvangst was niet geweldig. Er werd geen Hallo gezegd, niet welkom geheten. Ze commandeerde of vroegen met Duitse kreten. De paarden die net terug kwamen van een rit, moesten gelijk weer voor de volgende rit door, zonder een slok water. De rit van drie uur was mooi. De paarden zijn gewend om aan te moeten sluiten in de rij en maken continu een drafje. Dat was heel onprettig rijden. De meiden die de groep leiden, riepen ook af en toe een Duitse kreet. Paarden waren goed, rit was mooi, maar het gevoel wat het hele gebeuren gaf, maakte de ervaring echt wat minder geslaagd.
Wonderful experience and nice people
The 3-hour trip was enjoyable, and the scenery was beautiful. However, some experience is definitely required. One issue I noticed was that the two guides spent most of the tour riding ahead and talking to each other, which made me feel less safe. If I had encountered any issues, I wouldn’t have been able to get their attention easily. It would have been much better if one of them had stayed at the back of the group to keep an eye on everyone.
Very well-organized horse tour. We booked the three-hour tour. Some prior riding experience is recommended for this tour. The horses don’t only go at a walking pace, so being confident in the saddle is advisable.
Perfect if you have a bit of experinse of riding
The whole 3 hours long ride was wonderful! The horses are calm and easy to ride. The scenery is just outstanding. I wasn’t a confident rider but I easily cantered along the beach and by the end I was absolutely loving it. Only down side is I didn’t bring leggings so only had thin trousers on which meant the saddle rubbed causing a bit of bruising. They have chaps at the ranch but I wasn’t offered them and didn’t see them until the end. However, it was totally worth it and I wouldn’t hesitate to do it again. Bucket list item ticked off!
Me and my partner did the 3 hr ride and loved it. From start to finish it was brilliant. 100% recommend. I’m an experienced rider but my boyfriend hasn’t ridden much and he really enjoyed. Great fun. The horses were lovely.
